Hi there,

I currently live and work in England and wish to move to Perth to work.

My issue is I have not passed my MCTS/MCITP Microsoft exams so I am not recognised as skilled by the ACS or by the visa people...

I am trying to apply for jobs I am perfectly capable of doing to get a company to sponsor me but as I really only have 3 years working experience in the industry, who is going to want to sponsor someone so young right?

I really want to go, I am considering a 1 year working visa too but I really want financial stability as i know Perth is going to be expensive. I know a family over there (not my family) whom I can stay with for a few months so I could use that as a base to find work, but then, would I be able to stay?

I would really appreciate all the help I can get.

My reasons, im chasing a lovely girl who i dated for a year and dont want to lose :)

All help would be amazing.

Thanks alot,

Chris from sunny England

Your probably better off on the working holiday. While you're over in Perth, you can study for your MCITP, but just don't let the girl distract you - at least not too much ;)

do you think im likely to find work with or without my mcitp before i go over? and how likely i am to find a company to employ / sponsor me when im there?

haha i will try not to get distracted too much but this is something i must do or ill regret it forever! just seems so hopeless with all this skilled worker stuff. immigrants are coming in and i want to dedicate my life to their i.t industry and just because im not skilled enough yet means they dont want me! :(

I don't know, but I imagine the MCITP would help tremendously. (Is this with an emphasis on active directory? If so, shouldn't be too hard to pass while on your WHV). You can seek sponsorship or maybe even apply directly to the new skills select system - you're young enough and shouldn't have a problem with the IELTS, so you'd probably be one of the ones to get high points.

LOL - your post reminds me of a guy I used to know who was also desperate to get to Oz because of a girl he knew. (Not that you're desperate, but this guy was). The poor guy had such an urgency, he was so lovesick, he just didn't know what to do with himself. Well, he didn't succeed with his plans to migrate and the girl ran off with another guy within Oz, and he was so heartbroken - his heartbreak was tremendous, the poor guy couldn't function on a day to day basis. But that's besides the point :p

the mcitp covers active directory in one of its modules indeed, i mean i use it on a daily basis and can do most things with it! i will have a look at this skills select system, what does it entail, me doing tests or? and isnt IELTS a tennis thing? lol confusion.

ahaha i am desperate to go over definitely and have all the confidence in the world she'll wait for me to get myself sorted to get over as soon as possible and stay with me :D but if she did go off me then id likely head back to england :) but i just want the opportunity to stay! seems to me without the mcitp its going to be really hard :(
