Hi

We are hoping to relocate to France this year and will be needing health care insurance for when our E106 expires, as employment looks ulikely though we will be looking. Can anyone recommend a good company? We have seen quotes of 4000 Euros each which seems extortionate, the best so far found was 4800 Euros for the pair. Is it better to go with an english or a french company. We are both currently without health issues.

4800 € for a couple is actually pretty good. We're on the French national system (thanks to our company) but then pay another 80€ each a month for a mutuelle to cover the difference between what we pay and what we're reimbursed on the national system.

The main advantage of going with an English company is that all your forms will be in English and when you need assistance, you can call somewhere and speak to people in English.
Cheers,
Bev

If you are looking at private health insurance options, you may want to look at an international insurance plan. Many individuals have found this helpful as they may want the option to travel and also to choose where they receive treatment. In terms of English v. French companies, you will want to look at specific plan details. You'll also want to make sure that there is full support in both English and French. Some companies may also have a larger network of providers or perhaps no network at all, allowing you to choose your doctor or hospital. Expatriate health insurance plans can be found on google to further investigate.
