Hi everyone, One thing that I need to know is - if I am non resident in Spain but spend 5 months of the year there can I register with a local Doctor ? Will my EHC suffice or will I need private medical insurance? I need to know as ordinary travel/health insurance does not cover a stay of that long. Thanks.

Terra you can get long term trav ins which covers your stay no problem

strictly speaking, if you're here more than 90 consecutive days, you are required to register as resident - & would need private healthcare (or an S1 if you get a pension)

if you're here in several shorter 'chunks' though, your EHIC will cover you for essential & emergency care, though health/travel insurance is recommended
