Has anyone collected anyone from Malaga airport recently?

The current stae of play ( copied from another forum):

P1 Ground floor for arrivals is recommended but I find P2 at departure level more convenient, first 15 mins free then you pay!

No I haven't but I looked on the official website and it doesn't say anything about it being close.
However in the first section, parking general, it does say edificio cerrado meaning it's a closed building and the cars are not kept outside, but does not mean the car park is closed for business. Maybe this has caused confusion?

You might be right - I wonder if that's what's caused confusion?

I looked on the Malaga airport website and didn't even notice that.

Looks like Country Boy has given you the right answer though - as long as that's up to date

It's all a bit in flux down there at the moment, they keep moving cones about and trying things a different way but it was ok last week!
We're off again next Tuesday, can't wait to see how it's panning out...Spain....booze-ups and breweries come to mind

My procedure for collecting people:

Park in Leroy Merlin car park, San Julian or in San Julian itself (there is a café/bar); you are five minutes from the airport.
Prior to their departure, instruct arriving friends/family to call or sms you when luggage collected or when about to exit Terminal.
They should exit at Departures, walk along as far as possible. I usually tell people to wait under the flags. Very visible!
Drive to Airport Salidas and do instant pick up.

Consult Malaga Arrivals before leaving home so you get up-to-date information about flight status, any delays etc.

This method is very relaxed and avoids any car park charges,.
