How do expats deal with the weather?

My corner of Texas was a challenge for me. In summer weeks on end in the 100-110F, water restrictions, hot enoug to cook eggs on a car hood (we tried it), two days of Fall, two days of Spring, winters with blizzards, frozen fog and metro areas including airports shut down for inches of ice. This year it has been raining, raining, raining - flash floods, closed roads, ruined garden and yards. FEMA is issuing life jackets to prairie dogs:cool:

Last night tornado season officially opened by wiping out a SASS range.

We leave for Cyprus! It was actually cooler, there were less bugs and mosquitoes and less humid last summer in Cyprus than it was in Northern VA. Now in VA it is hot one day, cold the next. We put away all the winter clothes last week then had to break them out again.

It is crazy everywhere it seems though. The airport in Cyprus last week was covered in ice and now it is summer like!
