Hi!
My boyfriend is St Lucian and was recently refused entry into the UK because he stayed 6 months 5 years ago. He understood he could visit for 6 months without a visa but only had a ticket for a 3 week stay. He didn't realise he couldn't change his mind mid-stay and that was the reason he didn't get in this time. He was told he'd now have to apply for a visa to get into the UK. Does anyone know if he's likely to be granted one?
My other question is, if we got married one day would he be guaranteed a visa into the UK or could his past innocent mistake still work against him?

thanks

Moving this to the UK board where you will get more answers but so long as he applies for the correct visas, meets the requirements and declares everything he should be ok to visit.

Spouse visas are more complicated, there are strict financial requirements placed on you as his sponsor.
