Furniture Stores In France?

Can anyone recommend any furniture stores in France? Aside from IKEA of course. We'll be moving to Lyon in September so someone that has a location there would be nice (the nearest IKEA seems to be in Grenoble) but something within an hour or two would be good. Delivery is good, free delivery is better, renting a van and picking up is okay. I don't mind assembling flat-pack stuff but having something delivered and assembled might be worth paying more for.

Castorama is a national chain of "household goods" stores. Don't know their delivery policies.
Ditto for Conforama.

Google "meuble" for quite a few online sources.

Or go to the Pages Jaunes (Yellow Pages) and enter "meubles" for Quoi and Lyon for "OĂą" and you should get all the local furniture stores in town.
Cheers,
Bev

There is an Ikea in Lyon. I have been to it enough times. It south of the city heading 'towards' Grenoble. But it is in Lyon. It is about 20 mins by car from the centre (without traffic) or 2-4 hrs with traffic lol.

Fly is another option ,Fly meubles et décoration, magasin mobilier design, contemporain : canapé, chambre, cuisine, bureau. | FLY) but it is like Ikea but more expensive.

Then you have habitat (https://www.habitat.fr/) more expensive still but nice. There is a shop right in the centre of Lyon.

Your best bet is La Redoute (Meubles décoration | La Redoute) and order online and have it delivered.

It is all the same cr&p in each shop to be fair. Probably all made in the same factory.

Ikea is in Saint Priest, a SE suburb of Lyon/Villeurbanne, but a new Ikea is being added (to open in 2019) in Vénissieux.

For inexpensive furniture (meaning particle board and veneers), the usual places are Conforama, Ikea, But, and so on.

You can find much nicer, more durable, and more expensive furniture at smaller shops, depending on your budget and taste. We've had pretty good luck with Interiors (solid wood construction in general), which has stores in Saint Priest and in Lyon along the SaĂ´ne, but --then again -- we prefer traditional furniture styles so Interiors is fine for us. If you prefer Scandinavian style furniture, BoConcept might be worth a visit.

For non-upholstered furniture, you can get some good deals on good-quality older furniture by watching leboncoin, checking out les Puces du Canal, or visiting brocante shops. I'm fine with used furniture, but draw the line at upholstered furniture. Your preferences may differ.

If you have a car, you can find several furniture stores, along with the usual lower-cost places, in Saint Priest.

High quality contemporary furniture can be found at Ligne Roset - it is expensive but it is really good quality and (at least here via Meubles Laclau) their service is amazing. Iif quality is what you are looking for, it's well worth visiting a store and not just relying on the online catalogue as you will see pieces that are not in the catalogue..

Maisons du Monde is a really nice shop -- we go there for our glasses and plates and other decorative supplies, but they have (rather expensive) furniture as well.

I had a friend use Castorama to equip his apartment, but it was pricey and the furniture wasn't that impressive -- he ended up regretting not going to Ikea.
