Could someone please give me some advice. I am unemployed in France and am being paid by Pole emploi. I have private health insurance in Switzerland (as I live quite close to there), I am currently waiting on my French social security number and I know that will cover me for health care in France. I really want to stay in the private system in Switzerland as I have an illness and am currently covered there for medication etc I have been sent a letter to complete regarding my social security it is "declaration de choix de medecin traitant" I am not sure therefore if I will also need to find a doctor in France in order to provide the social security with the information...any ideas anyone?

Many thanks in advance

Thanks so much for your reply. My situ is quite complicated that I prefer to keep my health insurance in Switzerland (it costs me a lot but I love the standard of care there). Now for my social security they have asked me to complete the medicin traitment form but I am not sure what to do about this as I want to keep my health care on the Swiss side..

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your time to help me!! Its all a bit confusing at the moment. I am also wondering what would happen if I become pregnant again in the future and am still unemployed (i receive unemployment benefit through the pole emploi based on my previous salary). I know pole emploi stop paying as soon as I declare pregnancy and the social security take over payments. I asked at the social security office but was a bit confused after.. I am wondering do you have any idea how much the social security would pay? Thanks again in advance for all of your help with this..I am struggling at the moment to get my head around the whole process.
