Hello

My wife owns a property in France which she bought two years ago in her name before we married or were even together. I now wish to buy a property myself. Would she be liable for CGT on sellinhers selling hers by virtue of the fact we are married? We want to avoid paying the tax so any advice welcome. Thank you

As I understand it, CGT does not apply to the seller's principal residence. https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F10864
