My husband moved to the UK from Poland in 2006, and obtained British citizenship around 2011. My question is on Q3.16 and 3.17

3.16 If your sponsor was not British from birth, when did your sponsor obtain settlement?

3.17 On what basis did your sponsor obtain settlement in the UK?

Does this refer to the date that he arrived in the UK originally, and became settled? Or does it refer to when he obtained citizenship?

Thanks

I BELIEVE the answers would be as follows -

3.16 is the date he got Permanent Residence (settlement is permanent residence, not citizenship, as all British citizens must be settled but not all settled persons are British citizens)

3.17 Permanent residence on the basis of exercising EU treaty rights in the UK for 5+ years

Thanks, that's what I thought. He does have some document (I think it is blue) showing permanent residency. Will use the date in that then.
