Hi all,

Just two cents suggestion based on my experience.

For those traveling from Kolkata/Chennai/Bangalore/Kochi/Trichy (or near by areas) to Australia (Melbourne/Perth/Sydney/Goldcost) you can try airasia (low cost carrier) with a stop over in Kuala Lumpur. You can book a budget hotel (Tune hotels) which is walkable distance from the airport. There is one Indian restaurant operating in the airport which servers Indian cuisine. So, you will not miss Indian food :)

Some notable points :
1. You have to pay additional cost for luggage, seat selection and meal.
2. It will not offer 5-star service, but worth for money.
3. Subscribe to airasia newsletters so that you will get emails about the promotions/offers. You can get a very cheap deal, if you book early.
4. Changing the travel dates will be an issue and it will incur additional cost.
5. You can do comparison with other full service airlines before making final decision.

Good luck!!!!!!
