Hi All,

I'm new here in Madrid, I will be renting a room in a flat. I would like to know how things normally go. I'm supposed to sign a contract. Also is the contract has a standard form or the owner just write a piece of paper and both of us sign it.

Thx
Ahmad

I don't know for sure about flat sharing contracts - there more than likely is a standard one

what I would be sure about though, is that whoever you are signing the contract with, has the right to let the room to you

it's unusual for tenants to be allowed to sublet - so ask to see proof that they can indeed do so, if they don't own the property themselves

& all contracts have to be in Spanish
