Hello, can someone help clear my doubt?

The first entry date stated in my grant letter is by April 2018. If I make first entry in October 2017, will the 5-year validity of my PR be counted from April 2018 or October 2017?

Thanks in advance.

It will be counted from the day u have entered the country, not the first entry date given in grant letter. Apr 2018 is the final date , u need to be there before that and if u dont need get pcc and medical again and submit

This is why forums like this are sometimes dangerous. What a bizarre load of info. When you are granted your visa, it will have two dates or interest: "Must Make First Entry Before" and "Must Not Arrive After". For my Visa the former was roughly 12 months after the latest of PCC/Medical. The latter 5 years after grant date. The visa is PERMANENT, the travel facility is not. I understand that missing IED means the visa is cancelled. Nothing to do with redoing meds.
