I am looking for information, advice, suggestions about how to find a rental accommodation in Melbourne, Australia.

I do know that there are a lot of real estate sites offering information about rental accommodation. What I do not know is, whether I can book one online from India so that I have some place to live when I land in Australia.

If not, what options do I have?

I have absolutely no connections (friends or relatives living in Melbourne) so your suggestions and advice will be really helpful.


Info about me:

I shall be moving to Melbourne next month under the Permanent Employer Sponsored Scheme (PR + Employment).

Gumtree did come up in google search, but I am not sure about how reliable it is. But I will definitely look into that as well.

Google backpackers accommodation in Melbourne CBD and stay for 2 or 3 weeks.
And before moving permanently to a accommodation inspect it first .
