Hi everyone. Let me first say how wonderful this place is. I honestly can't believe how helpful everyone is and I have no idea how someone would navigate the UKBA minefield without the previous experiences here.

I have a (hopefully) simple question regarding the financial requirement on form FLR(M). It seems the form isn't really set up for some of the new rules.

I am receiving a tax-free stipend of £15,590 per annum and my partner has just started a new job (£22,000) which will make up the shortfall by the time we apply. The UKBA guidance gives the £18,600 gross requirement as being equivalent to a tax-free income of £15,800.

Now the questions.

Should I convert my tax-free stipend to the gross equivalent and include that number on the form under non-employment income?

Or should I use £15,800 in the "Indicate the financial requirement you must meet here" box and include the actual stipend I receive? If this is the case, should I include my partners pre- or post-tax income?

Thanks so much for taking the time to help.
