Hello everyone, we are wanting to apply for our fiancé visa tomorrow and have the final nail biting panic of have we got the right information. Below is a copy of our checklist if someone wouldn’t mind having a look through and commenting. For the accommodation evidence, my partner has exchanged contract but hasn’t completed on the property yet. For intention to marry we couldn’t provisionally book the venue but there is 6/7 pages of correspondence between my partner and the registry office. Any feedback would be much appreciated

You need proof that you have adequate accommodation at time of application. If he's hasn't completed on the purchase, there is no guarantee that this is where you will be living. Where does your partner live now? That is what you should be using for accommodation.

Engagement ring receipts aren't adequate. Wedding ring receipts are.

Thanks for replying. My partner lives with his sister and brother in law in their house. The reason we have chosen to use the new property is because my partner read the guidance and it says “is (will be) owned”. Does that not cover this? Also what other documents will he get and need to submit after completion? For the intention to marry, what else do we need to provide then?

You should go with the sure thing as far as accommodation. Which means the deed or land registry a letter of permission from the home owners and a council tax or other utility bill.

As far as proof of marrying, anything that you would normally need, wedding ring receipts, flower receipts, photographer receipts, receipt for a wedding lunch. You don't need every single thing.

Unless they've changed things, then yes, you need a passport sized photo for the sponsor. I think they only ask for one. I never found out what it was for but they kept it when they returned our paperwork. I'm guessing something just to keep on file or to compare to the passport pic?

Hi thanks for replying
We are almost at completion and don’t know whether we have enough evidence as people are saying different things. Is it just the contract that we require or do we need to have completed? Do you know? Any help would be appreciated
