I've been in the UK almost 3 years under a 3-year Tier 2 General visa (along with wife and 2 kids as dependents). We intend to stay on, and my employer has issued a new Certificate of Sponsorship for another 3 years. I'm having trouble making sense of the information on the gov.uk site, however, in terms of exactly what I need to apply for, and how much it will cost.
1. Am I correct that I would be applying to "extend your visa" -- which is NOT the same as "further leave to remain"? https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa
2. Under Fees, the site above lists for "Tier 2 General (up to 3 years)...extend..." a cost of £651 per person. But then it also lists "Tier 2 General (more than 3 years)...extend..." a cost that's twice as much: £1302.
Which is the appropriate number for me?
Thanks for advice,
david
