Hi there! Please help! Don't even know where to begin.. We want to move to the UK. My husband is a Mechanical Engineer. We are under 30 with 2 young kids and want to move to the UK to save some money as soon as possible. How do we get a job offer without a visa? We don't have any family there/don't have family that was born there. I was there on a 2 year working holiday visa a couple of years ago and really loved it in the UK. Should we apply for a visa (and which visa) or try to get a job offer first? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If neither of you have a non-UK EEA passport, visas are needed. The only visa that gives you employment is points-based system visa, usually sponsored Tier 2. If you can transfer internally to UK operations, that will be the easiest, or else you need an employer to sponsor you. Some engineers are on shortage occupation list (google for it), meaning the job doesn't have to be advertised. If it isn't on shortage list, it becomes very tricky as they have to give the job to any suitably qualified local applicant who needs no visa. Once you qualify for a work visa, the rest of the family can get dependent's visa.
