Hi everyone!

I'm a 23-year-old American living in Melbourne and unfortunately my tourist visa will expire at the end of June. I've been here nearly a year and a half with the help of a 1-year WHV, a 3-month eVisa and a 3-month extension.

I am hoping to apply for another extension (six additional months), this time at the local immigration office with a paper form (601). Has anyone ever done this before?

I know I'm eligible for six more months and I have the proof of funds BUT I am still extremely anxious. Any tips would be great- I've called the visa helpline about a dozen times to ask questions but I'm pretty sure they make a note when I call and it's probably starting to look weird!

Should I book a flight home for December, to show them?

Do I need to provide a specific 6-month itinerary with dates or just a general idea of my travel intentions?

Or would it be easier to go to NZ for a week and coming back on another eVisa?

Any input would be fab :)
