1) if you want the points for your wife's education experience, you need to get an assessment done.
Please keep in mind that because of the difference in standards between India and Canada, Masters and Bachelor's degrees granted in India may not be assessed to be equivalent to a Canadian Bachelors and/or Masters degrees.
2) It isn't necessary for you to learn French at this point in time. There is no way that you'll be able to learn enough French in a short time to score well in the assessment tests... I am Canadian born and educated and I took some French classes in high school and at university (in the 1990s) and I occasionally speak French with my husband in our home - I would have to revise for a couple of months before I would be confident enough to sit the exams and, even at that, I would likely be hard pressed to get a high grade.
