Hi,

My friend got an offer for a Tier 2 and will receive the certificate of sponsorship on July 12th. She is in Ottawa to apply for Tier 2 via consulate and needs to secure appointment as soon as possible as she has to attend a family wedding back in Europe before starting employment.

1. Is the COS required before booking the appointment or application?
2. Is it better to apply online or via VFSGlobal
3. Is there anything she can do to expedite the appointment?

Thanks

You need the CoS before you can apply. Without the CoS you have no basis for applying. So if she's receives the CoS on 12 July, then that's when she can apply.

You apply online through VFS.

Tier 2s are processed fairly quickly within a week or 2. There is an option for priority and super-priority.
