There are certain professions that simply don't transfer easily within the EU. I suppose it might be somewhat easier if your Swedish employer would be interested in establishing a French branch of some sort.

Setting up a company is not a trivial task, though it can be done. You would have to contact the local Chambre de Commerce to inquire about the specific requirements - and unless you have other investors, you'd be limited to a "one man" business entity (like an EURL or EIRL). The Chambre de Commerce can point you in the direction of the appropriate regulatory authorities - but be prepared for all the available information to be in French.
