hello guys,

I've been trying to submit the application after giving the credit card details.

I am getting any error.

It says "An error was encountered while lodging your application."

Does anybody has idea about why this error is coming.

I guess the server is down is it?

Pls help folks!!

Hi Niks,

It might be that your credit card company may have put a block in the transaction? Try contacting them to inquire and notify them that it is a legitimate transaction that you are trying to charge. If you have the available credit to charge the amount, usually these credit card companies do this to protect you from fraudulent charges especially when your charge is outside your country. I also received an error when I had lodged my application awhile back and it was due to my credit card company putting a block.

If it isn't your credit card. Then it's likely something wrong with the system and to try it again at a later time.

One more thing to consider that your credit card wasn't activated for online/overseas transactions at the time of transacting the fee.

Thanks.

Yeah....there's a palnned maintenance i guess and you must have been processing your application at the same time..it happened with me too while uploading the docs...
just wait for a day and then try again..
DIAC actually puts up an alert and lets us know the time of this maintenance..

It reads :
Online Applications

Planned System Maintenance and Technical Issues

For detailed information about planned system maintenance or current technical issues including known system errors.
Note: Online services outage on 10 March 2012 will be longer than usual.

yes even for me few docs in checklist was missing like from 80 and 1221 but CO will ask for it definitely if he needs it. Better to keep it ready or upload it even before he asks for it. Basically, to claim points against every category you need docs to prove that.

Be wise in uploading the docs, only max 60 number of attachments and file size less than 5 MB can be uploaded. Try to club the related docs into same doc and reduce the DPI of pdf so that they are <5MB

hello dreamaus,

But I can attach the EMployment proofs(experience letter, ref letters, sal slips etc) right?

Rest of the things I'll attach once CO asks for them.

ALso the online status of the application shows "Processing commenced"
I think this is the first status which is common for all
Pls correct me if I am wrong.

Yes even I don't have that in my checklist but still I uploaded them. What is "rest of things you mean" ? Whatever is shown in the checklist at least attach them within 28 days with exception of Meds and PCC which can be uploaded on request as well. More if they need he will mail you.

Yes that is the state imm after you apply.

I would second dreamaus comments, try to load as much as possible of all those documents that are required for a valid application .Even if your allotted space runs out there are other ways to send documents digitally to DIAC.

Thanks.

Hi Hassan, I have run out of space! In other thread, someone told that we can send it via email to them...if you are aware of any other way let me know...

Hello dreamaus,

Yes I meant PCC and Medicals by "Rest of the things". :)

I'm planning to apply for PCC before the CO requests.
So that when CO asks time is not wasted in that.

Thanks

Guys what is the diff between
Evidence of 'specific work exp' and
Evidence of work exp??

m confused which one to select?
I choose Evidence of work Exp and uploaded the docs. As long as the doc satisfies the CO he shouldn't bother about the category against which it is uploaded I suppose.

Hi dreamaus,

I think if one has worked in its nominated occupation for atleast 3 years in the past four years then one should choose 'Specific work experience'
