Dear All,

I need your assistance here. I got ACS assessment as shown below, but I am confused as I am not sure if I can claim 8 years of working experience or not as they specified May 2011 in the report. Could you please advise whether I can claim 8 years of working experience when I submit the application with DIAC or not.

Unfortunately, you can only claim points for your exp after May 2011 not before that. Going with your ACS report you can claim points for remaining of your total exp which is 2 years, but there are no points being awarded for 2 years exp. So you wont be able to claim any point for your EXP :(:(:(

May I know what degree you are holding, Is it major or minor in computing ??

Thanks all for your reply.. I hold a bachelor of commerce (accounting) from Alexandria University, Egypt.. I am not sure if I have to assess this too in order to claim points for bachelor degree..Some says I have to assess it with VETASSESS while others say DIAC will accept it as it is equivalent to world standard and if DIAC decide to refer to VETASSESS then I will do so.

So only 2 years of working experience that count here based on the ACS report?.. I have some questions here:

1- Why did they mention May 2011?.. Based on what exactly.. I never mentioned anything in RPL about May 2011.. the two projects that I presented in the RPL was dated as follows

Project 1: Feb-April 2009
project 2: Sep- Dec 2010

In addition, if they deducted 6 years of work experience then did they start counting from March 2005? or from which date exactly..because if they counted from march 2005, then the statement should be AFTER Feb 2011 NOT May 2011, am I right?

2- Could I ask ACS to find another suitable job title that can give me more years of work experience such as
263112 Network Administrator
263213 ICT Systems Test Engineer
262112 ICT Security Specialist
263113 Network Analyst
262113 Systems Administrator
Which I believe that I am qualified for them too..I know that 263111 Computer Network and Systems Engineer is a high profile and this is why they may have deducted 6 years. They could deduct less years for a less position profile... What do you think?

Please keep in mind that I got the ACS report on 27 Sep 2013 so I think I have the chance to do a review or whatever is called..

3- Please tell me what my options based on the following information:
Age : 32 and will be 33 in 6th of June 2014
IELTS : Speaking 6.5 Listening 7 Reading 6 Writing 6.5
Bachelor of commerce (accounting)
ACS report as mentioned above

Thanks a lot guys..

The problem is that unfortunately your degree does not match your profession. Additionally, since your degree is non ICT, you will get the same result from all IT fields. I applied under 263111 and got an incomplete as i had only 3 years and 9 months of experience. ACS required atleast 4 years since my IT degree does not closely match my field (263111)

The only way to get through is to get a good score in IELTS and state sponsorship. I will get 0 experience from ACS, but with 20 IELTS points I will be able to reach 65 points....
