Hello Friends!

I intend to apply for Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189 for Australia.
The readiness process for EA Skills Assessment for me took some time. Meanwhile I have seen a new MSA Booklet 2015 being released.

I noticed that for CDR (Competency Demonstration Report) pathway for Assessment, there was a requirement for Academic Records (Testamurs, Certificates, Transcripts) to be attested by a Notary Public or a Lawyer ( Section 5. Certification of Copies of Documents of "Migration Skills Assessment Booklet 2012"). This was when the CDR reports needed to be couriered as Hard Copies to EA, Adelaide.

As per the new MSA booklet 2015, there is an Online submission process (pretty neat I must say!!) and there is NO mention of any attestation / notarization for any documentation ... just clear legible Color Copies, with translations wherever necessary.

Maybe I am being overcautious here, But i rather not skip pertinent information :-D :
Am I understanding this distinction clearly, or am I missing something? Is it ok by process for me to simply scan my Academic Records and upload them without attestations??

Thanks in advance for your help !

You have a big blue rectangle with bold letters that state:

All required documents must be colour scans of
original documents and must have a resolution of at
least 300 dpi

Plus another paragraph on page 20:

Online Application Process
Please upload
colour scans of original documents
pertaining to the relevant skilled employment and/or PhD
online. We will not accept documents with poor resolution
(should be at least 300
dpi
).
Certified documents are not
accepted for online applications
.

So yes, you only need to scan them in color.

Thanks Maezel,

Couple of queries:
1) I wanted to check specifically about the Attestation of Documentations by a Notary Public. As per current process for EA (Verification of Skills via CDR), is this attestation still required?

2) Also is there a size restriction for upload for MSA on Engineers Australia per file or per total upload?

Appreciate your help!!!

1) No.

2) Not that I know of. I uploaded files as big as 15mb without problems.

Hi, i have a doubt regarding DPI of an image.
If i change dpi form [ex:] 200-300 dpi using an online converter will it be OK ? or does it need change the dimensions as well ? i have different sizes of images and when i changed the dpi to 300 the dimensions remained the same.. but i can see from pic properties>details>horizontal and vertical resolution as 300 dpi..

Thanks..
