Hi,

I am the owner of a Freehold Property in Dubai Marina. I'm willing to relocate to Dubai to find jobs in the UAE. Im a Mechanical Engineering with a Master's Degree with experience with Toyota and Honda, Research and Development Department from Japan. I've been in Japan for the past 4.5years. I work on CAE - Noise and Vibration Analysis of Vehicle Development programs. Are there suitable jobs of a similar profile in UAE, and where can i find them.

Try looking online after searching for one of the many questions asked about which are the good sites. But you may have noticed the UAE doesnt manufacture cars.

Why would your property ownership status matter ?

Yes, I should try searching online. And mostly i haven't found anything relevant to my profile. Like you point out UAE doesn't manufacture cars but i believe there may be some Engineering Research and Development companies that provide Engineering solutions. I want to look for them....

There are no R&D companies in the UAE - it a horrendously expensive place to do business so you dont move incubators to where there's no culture of innovation.

They're still entrenched in the buying or copying other peoples ideas mode.

Jaguar Land Rover have a hot weather test centre in Dubai - seen loads of their prototype cars on test!

I know of colleagues whose spouses with good qualifications in somewhat specialised sectors tagged along thinking that they had no opportunity here. It did not take long before they did find something. Usually related to the qualifications rather than the sector they they were previously in. Besides what Steve suggested that, there is the aviation engineering sector that has test facilities. Suggest you go thru he big boys on this such as Hays.

Thank you all for the good information. To my knowledge, Testing centres are an important apart of the research and development activities. Especially in the case of research and development of new vehicles to hit the road. A new vehicle takes 3-4 years to develop with testing teams working simultaneously with design development teams. But if it's only a Hot weather test center then things could be limited in scope. But yes I could still try.
