Hi All,

I am currently on 457, and my current employer with whom i am working for last one year would like to sponsor under employee nomination scheme - 186.

Prior to this, i was with a different employer for about 1.5 yrs in the same occupation.

First of all, am i eligible or not for 186 visa?

If yes, should the employer nominate me under temporary transition or direct stream?

Regards
SJ

To apply under the Transition Stream, you need to work for your employer for at least 2 years on a 457 before the nomination and application are submitted. So you would need to see if you meet the criteria for the Direct Entry Stream.

Hi Maggie-May24,

Thanks for the response. What would be your advice for a candidate who has an option to apply for 189 visa with 70 points(IT BA) and also 186 ENS? i have both the options so wondering which one has an edge.
