Hi All,

I am trying for a OZ PR Visa and currently I am in EOI stage (Job Code 261313). Now I am in Bangalore, India working as a Senior Software Engineer in IBM Mainframes technologies.

One of my friend who is currently in Australia advised me to acquire knowledge in some new technologies, especially Cloud based technologies as Mainframes is a very old technology (and of course very less opportunities in it).

I request you fellow expats in IT sector to advice me on technologies which are gonna emerge in upcoming days.

Also, please let me know your opinions on below given technologies and their demand in current market (which would help me to choose between them).

1. Apache Hadoop
2. SAS , SPSS
3. Salesforce
4. Bigdata

Sajin, your friend's recommendation is correct. However, I'm not sure what's the scope of cloud technology in Oz as of now. They have always been a bit slow to adopt bleeding edge technologies. As per market's research, it's always better if you have multiple skills. For example, if you are into networking, it's better to have knowledge about computer systems as well.
