Before you can come here to work you need a valid visa that allows it. So you will need to be assessed for your skills by one of the trade organisations. As for work AU economy seems to be in better shape than alot of other economies. When looking for work initially you want to be in one of the Capital cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, etc).
Read the STICKY posts at the top of the forum to know about the topics and info you need before you emigrate.
Then go to the appropriate assessment agency website to find out the requirement to find out the rules for assessment.
After that the Immi website (immi.gov.au) to find out the available PR visas you can come over on (i.e. 175/176).
Search for the forum for electrician as I'm sure someone has posted before. You can also read about other trades who have come over successfully.
