Hello. So we sent off the documentation to the Border Agency in Durham for an EEA2 residence card for my Brazilian wife, myself being and Irish national without dual citizenship. We sent it by Special Delivery mail. I am wondering now, should I have paid extra to track the return of documents?

I was offered this in the post office, but did not think it relevant as the process will probably take a few months and i was also being quite cheap. In hindsight though, maybe i should have done it as the BA has our passports etc. There is no mention of this on the BA website. I had presumed that they will send everything back by registered post, but now I am worried that that responsibility lay with me. Could anybody clear this up for me? Thanks a lot in advance.
