If you are in UK and for longer than 3 months, you must be a qualified person, such as by working. If you are still outside UK and want to bring her to UK, you don't need to be a qualified person so don't need to show any salary or other financial details. As you are unmarried, you need evidence of at least 2 years of cohabitation, such as joint tenancy. You don't need to show £18k or any amount as guarantee.
