Hi!
I'm Italian and I was living in the UK for almost a year as a student. Now I am looking for a job and I want my girlfriend to reach me. She is not European and we are not married. We already have documents that show that we were living together for the last 3 years. For the EEA family permit, should my girlfriend apply as a worker or depending on me financially?
And another question: I understood that I must provide more than £18,000 on by bank account as a guarantee. Can part of this amount be in an investment fund? (in the bank statement the account is part current money, part investment fund).
Thank you! :)

Thank you so much Joppa! I don't think I quit understand something.. I just finished my studies in London and I still have a rented apartment there, even though I'm in Italy now. So what is my situation? As a person who've been in the UK for more than 3 months? And in case this is in fact my situation, I saw on the gov website that a qualified person can be "looking for work":
(Cit. If they’ve been in the UK for more than 3 months they must either:
- be a ‘qualified person’ (working, looking for work, self-employed, studying or self-sufficient)
- have a permanent right of residence)
In this case what should I do?
Thank you again and sorry for the questions.. I'm so confused! :D

Thank you again Joppa! I have some more questions... I just finished my studies and now I would like to work as self employed and open my own small business.
1. if I register as a small business now, I won't be able to show any income yet. Do you think it's ok to show the business documents AND my savings on my bank account? and explain that I'm self employed and while I'm waiting to start my business I have enough money to support me and my partner.
2. my rent contract expires in the end of September. Will it be ok to use this address for the accommodation requested? It seems unreasonable to sign a new contract before knowing the result of our request for visa.
Thank you again!!
