Hi all, I have two simple questions regarding the EEA Family Permits.

1. Once you have applied for them and they are granted, how soon do you have to travel?
2. From when do you count the six months, from travel time or from when you go into the UK?

Thank you in advance.

#1 From the 'valid from' date stated on your permit, which generally follows the projected travel date you gave on your application.
#2 6 months is already fixed at the outset, 'valid from' to 'valid until' date stated on your permit.

Thank you! We're selling our farm and moving. The timing is a bit awkward as we don't really have anywhere to stay inbetween. We live with my mom and dad so we're applying for her, myself and our two girls. We won't be traveling anywhere really once we're there so it's ok if it expires while we're waiting for the residency permit. Thank you for your help and all the other advice you've given. I've spent the last two days reading the forums and just couldn't find this info. Thank you again.
