Hello,
Could you explain : Had permanent residence status for the last 12 months if you’re a citizen of an EEA country - you need to provide a permanent residence document.
It mean one EEA citizen apply Permanent card after 1 year can apply for UK citizen ? or Have to wait 5 years from date get Permanent resident card UK? I would like to ask for my husband who is EEA member citizen. Thank you

They need to be in the UK for 5 years in order to get a permanent residence card/certificate
Then after another year, they can naturalise as British. So 6 years total residence in the UK.

Except when they are married to or in civil partnership (same-sex) with British citizen, they can apply for citizenship as soon as they gain permanent residence. For naturalisation, they need to pass the Life in the UK test and approved English test at B2 or have a degree taught in English.
