I am currently in the UK on a Tier 2 Religious Worker Visa. I entered in May of this year. I am married to a British citizen and our daughter is a dual national. Recently a colleague has told me that I could apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in just 2 years because I'm married to a citizen. I haven't seen this on any of the government sites so just wanted to know what truth there was to it. If anyone knows any more about this could you also include a link to a gov.uk site that states it?

It used to be 2 years until 2012, when the current rules came in and residence requirement became 5 years.
There are special circumstances that may allow you to apply for settlement before 5 years, such as if you are bereaved, or a victim of domestic violence etc.
