Hi,

I am trying to request for a short term transfer of my work from Singapore to Australia under "Assignment" contract of 3 months.

This means that I will perform my handover duties in Australia (eg from April to June 2010) and will get paid in Singapore dollars to my Singapore bank account for only a short period of 3 months.

I am just using my company Sydney office as a base for me to communicate to my colleagues and bosses as I assist in the handover.

However, this is something very new to the HR process and they have asked me to find out if I am liable for taxes in Australia ?

If you are farmilar with the local HR terms or laws here, could you advice me. Thanks.

If you are working in Australia your employer should probably withhold Australian tax from your salary.

What visa do you have please?

Best regards.
