I may be applying for an employee sponsored visa. I am thinking of moving over to Oz on my own and leaving my partner and step son and daughter in the UK. If I went over how would I get them over in about 5 years time? Can I transfer money from oz to the uk to pay the rent for them and other bills? Thanks

Aandk. Yes you can do whatever you want with your money, transfer to UK, spend it or donate it to HM!
If you are getting an employer sponsored visa you can choose to bring your family or not. Up to you. As long as you declare everything properly you'll be able to bring them in at any stage.

Actually you might find you have difficulties getting them over in 5 yrs. First what type of employer sponsored and are you married?

How, in 5yrs of you being in Australia them in the UK, do you propose you can prove a committed ongoing relationship?

Why the drastic measures anyway? They can be included in you application now!

Baisically to cut a long story short my step sons father wont consent to him leaving the country...fair enough. So as I am getting made redundant at the end of the year this is my only chance to keep making enough money. I would rather not mention what I do but in my line of work there is nothing left for me here. I have no academic qualifications over GCSE and no other skill so I woukld lose the house I have etc as I would not get another job that paid enough. My idea was to go to Oz myself and just live on bare minimum and send back money to keep my family going then when my son well, step son is old enough to make his own decision, I am hoping they will all move over then. We are not married but have lived together for 7 years

Sorry but I doubt you'd get them over in 5yrs unless it was on a Prospective Marriage Visa.

DIAC demands a 12 month relationship requirement. Australian Immigration Fact Sheet 35. One-Year Relationship Requirement

If you are from a western country that includes living together unless you are not apart on a permanent basis. That would usually be visa issues ie citizens of different countries and can not get a visa to live together or you are placed away by your work ie you are in the forces or your employer send you off somewhere. You choosing to apply for a job in a different country and choosing to leave your spouse behind for 5 yrs is your decision not something that has to be done and is kinda permanent!

Sending money to them is all good and well but that alone does not prove a committed defacto relationship. Does not even prove dependency if she works and/or gets benefits. A defacto relationship includes a shared life which is quite difficult when you are thousands of miles apart!

What visa do you propose you get that lasts 5yrs if you have no qualifications?

Are you not willing to go to court to try and get permission? If the father is being unreasonable or you put up a good enough case you could get permission, many do.

A job offer alone does not get you a visa. Someone could offer me a job as vet but if I haven't got the skill & qualifications to match and DIAC believes people local are more suitably qualified could do the role I wouldn't get a visa!
