Hey,

Downtown community does it exist? I’m new to Downtown and there are many tourists around. As new Expat I don’t know many people around Dubai so if you live in Downtown and want to join me for a coffee, meal, drink, walk let me know.
It would be good if we could get a group together in the Downtown area and make it into a regular occurrence!!

Get involved…………….

Hey Alo

I've lived in Downtown for over three years now and love it. I think there is a community feel between residents, but we are drowned out a bit by the tourists these days!

Have you tried Boulevard Cafe or Nezesaussi in the Al Manzil hotel? Boulevard is great for people watching and has a good breakfast menu, and Nezesaussi has live music on Thursday nights and a friendly, informal atmosphere. Which building/area are you in?

Hey KP,

Thanks no I haven’t been to these places! Will do so now!

I'm living at the Loft apartments, I do like the area. I guess it takes time to settle and meet people!!

Hey Alo, great idea...i dont think there is a regular downtown community.
However you can always initiate it.....

I am in downtown as well, and play badminton, squash almost everyday.

Lets definitely try and meet up this weekend for some coffee and shisha.....plenty of good spots! How about Shakespeare on Friday Evening @ 5.30 pm.

I'd like to join in too! Not sure I can make it Fri afternoon, but defo up for a meet up, keep me informed please :)

If there's enough of us I won't mind organising a picnic or get together at Safa park. My feet have never enjoyed grass as lush as that (no dandelions, no bald bits, very dense) :D

Yeah, I've got to ask the Wife if she is free and/or if we did not plan something I forgot about, but is sounds a lot cooler the way I wrote it, doesn't it ?
