Hi,
We are reapplying for a new 457 (last one was 2 years so looking for another 2 years one).
Do 457 applications need to have Police Checks. I notice on the 457 Employees Eligibility page that we must meet all character requirements, but didn't have to do this back in May 2008.

Yes, they do now. Rules were changed as recently as Sep 2009.

They didn't in the past.
