Hi,

I am currently in Australia and got my divorce granted here whereas I got married in India & still NOT divorced there. My question is I would like to marry another girl from India and would like to know what are the best options I have got to do the same by being here which would cost me less in terms of Visa fee.

I have checked the immigration website and there is a visa called as Prospective marriage visa if granted will be valid for 9 months from the grant date and post that I need to get her PR (as I am on PR) and these would cost me around $11K AUD in total. Please let me know whether there is/are any other option(s) to reduce this cost.

Thanks in advance for help.

Polygamy is illegal in India and as long as you're an Indian citizen, in order to re-marry, you will need to be officially divorced in India too.

Thank you Ronb for your reply.

She was not here when the divorce was granted but aware of the proceedings and also replied to the court on the served divorce notice.
