I'm a 30 year old Singaporean male trying to look for a job in the UK, i am currently working here in Singapore as a Software Engineer. I tried looking for software developing jobs in the UK that provides Tier 2 visa but it is close to non-existence, but when i went to check out the shortage occupation list "2136 Programmers and software development professionals", i would assume i would have been able to find more jobs for programmers.

I've been searching on reeds and cwjobs, and google as well, but the available results are just too highly limited. Any advice or help would be appreciated :)

Sponsorship is usually incredibly difficult to get and having a job in national shortage doesn't always make it easier. You can also try indeed and monster.co.uk. Recruiters won't get involved if you don't already have the right to work in the UK. You have to expect mostly rejections/non-answers, that's just the reality of the situation when you're applying 'cold' to jobs from outside the UK and require sponsorship in order to work here

You may want to look through the list of registered Tier 2 sponsors (you can find it by a quick google search) for tech companies and then apply directly on the Careers section of their websites.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'the available results are just too highly limited'

Thank you for your advice. What i meant by that was for example when searching on job search websites, i search "Tier 2" and filter the results to IT related jobs, only 7 appears, and out of the 7 maybe only 1 or max 2 really fits me. Considering how it's already that difficult to apply for a job in general, having only 2 results is extremely demoralizing.

I guess it really just is THAT difficult to get a job in London as a foreigner. =[

Yes, it really is difficult, not always possible

Instead of specifying 'Tier 2' in your search terms, you should just search for jobs appropriate to your skills as usual, and then cross-reference the employer with the Tier 2 register of sponsors.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers

Employers will usually state their desire to sponsor only if they are desperate, but many employers are Tier 2 sponsors for some specialist positions as needed so you'll potentially miss these ones if you're only searching for positions which include terms about visa sponsorship.
