Hello all,

I was hoping I could ask for some advice from what seems to be a very helpful forum. I have tried contacting many official numbers for help, but I receive a different, more confusing reply each time.

In brief: My wife applied for a settlement visa from inside the USA to settle in the UK last week. She attended her biometrics appointment on the 28th. Unfortunately that same day a relative passed away, and she had to use her passport to fly to the UK, without being able to send her documents. Now that she is here, I am wondering if there is a way to speed up the process.

If she were to send her documents after the 2 week period, will this automatically result in a void application? Can she extend the 2 week period on compassionate grounds? Can she apply for a premium service inside the UK and attend a 1 day appointment?

I would like to hear from any similar experiences you may have had, and any advice you can offer. Many thanks
