Hi there,

Please can some of you tell us your experience of processing times for onshore defacto visas.

I've just heard from my girlfriend's mother of a couple she knows receiving their defacto visa in 3 days! It seems too good to be true but it's come straight from applicant. They're living around Brisbane and used Hunt Migration, who themselves admitted it was the fastest turn around they've seen.
I heard 9 months to a year for it to be awarded so what could happen in this case for that to happen so amazingly quick? I guess using an agent/lawyer means that DIAC could prioritise it to get their stats down?

I'm from England, living in Brisbane and about to apply for a defacto. We're still deciding whether to use an agent and if they seem to get visas done quicker and save me many months it's would.

I've got many other questions but will perhaps save them for another thread. e.g. Should I get my police checks done now or wait until asked by a CO?

Thank you
