Hi everyone,

I am so close now to finishing the application form for my wife's visa. Any advice with this question would be appreciated.

I have put the date of arrival for he to be in the UK as at the beginning of August. As it is now close to August and the chance of her visa application being accepted for this time period so close, should I choose a date two months from the application date? So now that I am applying at the beginning of July should I put the date of her arrival as the beginning of September, or does the date or arrival not really hold much significance here?

Thanks,
Gene

It rather does. It normally dictates when the 30-day vignette will be valid for. I'd put something like a month ahead, and if it takes longer to reach a decision, the vignette will be made valid from soon after the issue. If you put the date too far ahead (up to 3 months) and visa is processed before that, you will probably have to wait until you can travel.
