Hi there everyone... thinking about the packing now :)
Spent hours on the internet searching this but going to need your help please
Will be Airfreighting about 16 boxes of personal items to Malaga (all used), within Europe. Anyone got any info on what the airport taxes and customs duties etc are at the airport? Im sure there must be loads of people who have brought their stuff by air from the UK , mines coming from Greece so Im thinking it would be the same :)

From what I can see there is nothing to pay VAT wise (as the items are used and more than one year old) but from experience Im sure there must be a COST to bring the items into the country.

Thanks in advance... see you all soon :)

Afaik customs duties and the 1 year old/used requirements only apply for goods coming in from outside the EU.
Thank you for your reply. Do you know where I can find out the customs charges/taxes for personal effects arriving from within the EU please?

When we shipped our personal possessions from the U.K we used a company that specialised in this and there was zero import duty on anything

Hi, thank you for your reply. We planning on using a specialist company from the Uk to ship our possessions from Greece to Spain. Unfortunately they only ship to Malaga airport and could not give me the extra costs involved on arrival. Hopefully it will be minimal. I suppose I am used to the Greeks taxing EVERYTHING ha!

Not really tax / customs related, but something to keep in mind just in case...

I was "made aware" after bringing all my belongings into Spain from outside the EU (and selling a lot of stuff that wouldn't fit in my flat!) that it may be illegal to sell stuff that was exempt from duties under the personal exemption rules.

Not sure how long you are supposed to keep it before you can sell it by the way, just something which I was ignorant of.
