Some questions on the visa application form that require a monetary value as an answer specify it should be expressed in GBP whereas others do not. Should all amounts be converted to GBP or is it OK to use the original currency for things like monthly income earned outside the UK and indicate what the currency is?

Hi Caseymac

Did you ever find out about this? I have the same question. We're up to the part where you have to enter the applicant's salary on the online version of VAF4A (spouse visa), which in our case is in Mexican pesos, also his bank statement and employer letter refer to pesos. I think it would be confusing to try and convert it to pounds, but I'm not sure what the ECOs expect/want to see.

Thanks

I'm not sure of the exact rules but I converted my income (which is in USD) to Pounds on my spouses application. Obviously the invoices/payslips etc were in USD but when writing a covering letter etc.. and filling out the forms I converted it.
