Hi,

does the covering letter need to be signed? Im typing it up and emailing it to my fiancé to print and add to the documents, will that cause a problem?

Thanks

If you can't give him the original document, sign it, then scan and email. It's not a required document, nor is it official, but your signature gives it some authenticity.

It is standard to include the date, and your address, at the top of any letter. Address it "Dear Entry Clearance Officer," and sign it "Sincerely, [your name]".

ok kool - so there is a cover letter that the sponsor writes summarising the application form briefly etc whhich goes on top of the application. Is it compulsory for the partner as well to write one, and if they did wouldnt that be replicating the sponsor's cover letter? and if they did, what would they write?
