A friend of mine has a council house...the council say it will accomadate another person but they won't write a letter to say that for housing inspection report that it is OK

For council housing must it be from council or can it be from a estate agent / solicitor ...who comes and can write it?

Thanks

A private surveyor can do a property inspection but you also need a letter from the council giving permission to the spouse to live there. Or a letter stating that once they receive their visa they have permission to live there.

Thanks friend.

Rather than creating another topic...wanted to ask if you have submitted application online and also submitted documentation but it has not been seen by the ECO..can you add any documentation?

The 28 day document rule...does that apply to the date the documentation was submitted in person or when submitted online?

Thanks again nyclon

No you can't submit anything after you have applied unless you are contacted by UKVi and asked to provide something.

Pay slips, bank statements and the letter of employment can be no more than 28 days old at the time of online application.

Thanks.

In regards to the letter of employment - and 28 day rule - is that written specifically in the laws - because the pay slips and statements is apparent - the employment letter - is not specifically written(or is it?)

I guess each ECO is themselves - if for example bank statements are fine - and show money coming in - but the employment letter is more than 28 days - logic says they should ask for that rather than refuse - but guess they can... that is only thing that I didnt include in the 28 rule thing - was more than a month old - Damn! :)

We have seen members refused recently for having an employment letter that is more than 28 days old. For that reason, we suggest that it be no more than 28 days old. All you can do is wait at this point.
