i am trying to find out as much information as possible for a friend of mine who is looking to emmigrate to australia from the UK on a permenant Visa.
If he was to become a permanent resident could you please advise me how much he could expect to pay annually for his medication?

The Medication he takes is
Azathioprine 100mg Daily
He also gets from the hospital
Convatec Drainable Pouch, convatec flange both 45mm as needed.

1. how much would this cost?
2. how much would it cost him for worst case scenario, hospital treatment if he took ill?
3. how much would be have to pay to see the doctor to order repeat perscriptions?

Hi CJC,

it will depend on what visa he is on. As a permanent resident (PR) he has access to MediCare, as a temporary resident (TR) he needs to pay for his own health cover (which could become expensive). Australia has a co-paying system, so some of the costs have to be covered by the patient. Note that his condition will also be evaluated regarding costs on the Australian healthcare system, if he goes for PR. He will likely have to submit detailed treatment plans and a letter from his physician.
