Hello,

Currently, I work for a global marketing firm in Dallas, Texas.
I recently accepted a position and will be transferring to our Paris office.
Essentially it will be a intra- group transfer.

The HR department in France, told me that they have submitted my file for approval (4/22). I was just curious how long this process takes until I receive my visa, or at least notification for my appointment at the consulate in Texas?

Is the process faster for a transfer compared to attempting to get a work permit with a completely different company? I am just trying to get a feel of the timeline.

Thanks for any tips.

Can't tell you what the timeline is, but I can tell you that the process normally goes quicker for an intra-group transfer than for someone who has gotten a job offer with a "new" (to them) company. Figure a couple of months - and maybe you'll wind up pleasantly surprised.
Cheers,
Bev
